Principal consultant - Dr. Michael Campbell
Expert in Nature-Based Tourism and Resource Management
Dr. Michael Campbell is a Professor of Environment and Geography at the University of Manitoba. For over 30 years he has studied the human dimensions of wildlife management, visitor management in parks and protected areas and the interaction between nature-based tourism and the environment. In addition to his academic work, he has authored dozens of reports to national, provincial, regional governments and NGO’s. He has assisted numerous consulting firms as a content expert.
His applied work has led to significant changes in management and regulation in parks and protected areas around the world. In addition, he has lead the development of three highly successful community tourism initiatives in impoverished areas of western Uganda. Finally, Dr. Campbell is an expert in the development of experiential field based learning and has lead field courses in Banff (28yrs), Grenada, Belize, and Italy.
