Whiteshell Park Litter.
This project focused on littering behaviour by using litter itself as a surrogate for littering, addressing a gap in existing research that typically focused only on the intention to litter.
Signs with interpretive and regulatory messages were randomly placed at backcountry campsites in the wilderness area of Whiteshell Provincial Park. Over an eight-week period, litter was collected, weighed, and counted weekly to evaluate the effectiveness of different messages in reducing littering behaviour.
